Minneriya and Kaudulla National Parks are between 45 minutes to 1 hour away from Elephant Stables Dambulla.

There are daily scheduled Seaplane Flights to Sigiriya from Colombo Airport and onwards to Trincomalee (Nilaveli Beach).
There are 2 Family Chalets consisting of a large main bedroom and an interconnecting room with 2 single beds. The chalets are large enough to easily accommodate a family of 5 persons if necessary.
Each Family Chalet is fitted with 2 separate wide screen 55 inch TV’s with multimedia facilities and huge film and music libraries.
There is a beautiful swimming pool for kids to play. There are indoor games and outdoor soft adventures in the surrounding forest to keep kids of all ages fully occupied.
Elephant Stables Dambulla has a compliment of 13 staff consisting of housekeeping, service and kitchen staff. Our staff are fully conversant in English and one or two other foreign languages such as French too!
Joel Hameed is the Resident Manager in charge of Dambulla. Sumith is the Assistant Manager.
The resort also employs many local staff from the nearby village. They mostly work behind the scenes in the garden, the security hut and maintenance.
Elephant Stables Dambulla stands on 7 acres of forest and jungle where Sri Lanka’s nature is on full display.
At night, small mammals such as wild boar, porcupine and jungle cats roam the forest. The trees contain a multitude of avifauna. These include Peacocks, Stork Billed Kingfisher, Shaheen Falcon and the endemic Sri Lanka Jungle Fowl.
Wild elephants also sometimes come to the neighbouring mountains in search of food.
Elephant Stables Dambulla has a variety of ‘soft adventures’ that are suitable to everyone, including families.
There are Mountain Bikes for hire. These can be used for variety of bicycle trails around local forests, villages and even to Sigiriya Fortress.
Hot Air Ballooning can also be arranged from the resort – depending on local weather conditions.
Nature trails through the neighbouring teak forest are a great option for bird watching.
